The boys basketball team had a district game Feb. 16 against Abilene High. The Panthers jumped out to a 10-2 lead against the district champions early in the game. They never looked to give up the lead and by halftime the score was 34-19. The final score was the Panthers with 67 and the Eagles 50. Permian was the first team to give Abilene High a district loss.

With this win the boys basketball team moved up to second place and will face Arlington Bowie in the Bi-District round. Arlington Bowie is the third seed in their division. Junior Kobe Robinson lead in points with 22 and junior Anthony Thomas finished the night with 19 points.

Permian finishes the regular season with a 14-10 record and a 7-3 district record.
