Both basketball varsity teams found themselves advancing into the playoffs once again this year.

The Lady Panthers were unable to advance beyond the first round when they fell short to Martin County 69-44. They ended their district season with 6-4 record.

“This season started off rough, but we came a long way and ended it pretty great,” Senior Ariel Brown also said ” with this being my last year of playing basketball for Permian it’s pretty emotional because I played for so long and loved it so when it’s all over it is going to be pretty hard to take in.”

The men’s basketball team also made it to playoffs and they will have their first game next Tuesday against Martin County.

Senior Rob Thomas said, “It feels great to be one of the teams in Permian history to go to 10-0 in basketball.”

The men completed there district season in first place with an undefeated season of 10-0.

The team hopes a large crowd can make it Tuesday in Abilene to cheer them on. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
