Hunt Takes Musical Path

Former NFL star, Sam Hunt used his breathtaking skills for singing and song writing to make it in the big leagues in Nashville.

Football might have been on his mind all throughout his high school years, but he was definitely a country singer at heart.

After planning on attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Middle Tennessee University as a standout player, Hunt’s dreams quickly turned in a different direction. He decided to move to Nashville and sing. To pursue another dream in song writing.

On Aug. 4, 2014, Hunt came out with his biggest hit, “X2C”, which made the top 10 chart on Great American Country.

My love for country music has always played a huge role in my life since I was younger. No matter what kind of mood I’m in, I can always turn to country music to brighten everything up. Sam Hunt has recently became one of my favorite country artists. Since he has made the top 10 on GAC, he has appeared on the TV a lot, which has inclined me to like him even more.

His number one song, “X2C”, is my absolute favorite. It talks about the issues with his new girlfriend and how he’s noticed that no matter where they go, she’s always looking around to make sure her ex is seeing that she is with another guy. Hunt really likes this girl, so he decides to play along with her games. She “all of a sudden” starts paying him attention as soon as her ex walks into the room. She’s only dating him because she wants to make her ex jealous in hopes that he takes her back.

Many girls can be evil this way and they begin to think it’s okay to treat a guy like this. They use guys in order to make their exes jealous, hoping they can get them back.

Hunt croons, “I ain’t no fool. You rascal you. You don’t want me. You just want your ex to see, ex to see.”

Hunt uses the situations he has been put through, in order to be a songwriter. His lyrics reach out to others that have been done wrongly by the ones they love. Relating to their story and what they’ve been through.
