Permian Panthers defeat Midland Dawgs

Team prepares to face off against city rival

Last Friday the Panthers beat to the Midland High Dawgs. The final score was 15-14.

It was a tough game for the Panthers as they were down 14-3 going into the fourth quarter. The Panthers came back to score 12 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Dawgs.

Senior Taylor Thompson said, “It was a tough game. They were coached up really well on our offense and what we were doing so it took us a while to adjust to that. But I’m proud of my team for fighting all the way through and coming out with the win. ”

The Panthers are now 2-1 in district.

They will be facing the city rivals Odessa High (1-2 in district) this Friday at 7:30 at Ratliff stadium. Permian will be the visiting team for this game, with fans sitting on the East side of the stadium. Tickets are available today and tomorrow, with an expected audience of 20,000 in attendance.

The Panthers will play their last district game next Friday at Ratliff against San Angelo Central.
