Last Friday the Panthers lost against San Angelo in the final district game of the season. The final score ended up at 39-21. The Panthers finished 3-2 in district play.

Even though the Panthers lost the game, they had already clinched the third seed playoff spot with the win over Odessa High the previous week 17-14.

“I feel that we have earned our spot in playoffs,” Senior Breshon Butler said. “The previous year Coach Blake Feldt told us we would be in this position, to have the opportunity to play in playoffs”

Butler is proud to have all the hard work pay off.

“It’s an honor to be going in to the playoffs my senior year.” Senior Blake Holder said. “Since playing pee wee football and going to all the games I have dreamed of going to state with my team.”

The Panthers will face Sam Houston out of Arlington,TX in the first round of the playoffs. The game will be held at Ratliff Stadium at 7:00 pm. The team hopes for a big crowd to come support them, despite the arctic blast. It is estimated to be in the lower 40 s to upper 30 s at the beginning of the game.
